The League of Women Voters is a national, non-partisan, political organization that encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in their government.

What we do for Darien.
  • At election time we prepare a nonpartisan Voters Guide, including all local and state candidates, that is printed in the town newspaper.
  • We present Candidate debates for all local offices.
  • We print and distribute Government Guide to inform citizens about who represents them.
  • We print and distribute Guide to the RTM to encourage citizen participation and knowledge.
  • We print and distribute Know Your Town a reference guide of town government, town services, and community and civic organizations.
  • We also provide publications at the Library and Town Hall on state government and state issues.
  • We have a local website for information on current issues and schedules.
How you can make a difference!
  • By voting in every election
  • By nominating and electing representatives who reflect your point of view
  • By reading the local newspapers and attending public meetings to develop informed opinions
  • By advising government representatives of your views
  • By joining with others in community organizations
  • By becoming a candidate for government office.
