Regionalism and the M.O.R.E. Commission Panel Discussion

June 3, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free and Open to the Public, no RSVP required

The State Municipal Opportunities and Regional Efficiencies (MORE) Commission was formed in 2010 with a goal of recommending cost efficiencies through greater regional cooperation.  New legislation, in essence, requires municipalities to join one of eight state wide Council of Governments (COGs). Darien’s RTM must vote on this measure.

Our panel includes the MORE commission chair, ranking minority member and a commission member involved in defining the composition of these regional groups.  The evening will be moderated by Kay Maxwell, Executive Director of the World Affairs Forum and former LWVUS President and written questions will be accepted from the audience.
This is an important topic that has received very little press but could mean significant changes for Darien’s Town Government. Please plan to attend and alert your friends and neighbors too!
