A Conversation with Your Muslim Neighbors

March 28, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Sponsored by WomanPower Action Network of CT

We are living in divisive times where people find themselves unsure of whom to trust. With a media and leadership who sometimes use skewed or false information to spread fear and intolerance, now more than ever communities need to come together to try to build bridges. The Darien LWV is pleased to recommend this informative event.
This panel will attempt to dispel or subvert stereotypical notions of what and who your Muslim American neighbor is. It will give the community an opportunity to have a conversation with their Muslim neighbors who are pillars of their immediate communities.

The panelists are Dolores Durrani, co-founder Saffron Road Foods, Westport; Azra Assaduddin, community activist, member, Interfaith Council of Norwalk; Zeeshaan Fatema Aratsu, history teacher, New Canaan High School; and Ameena Meer, author, brand manager, Sufi, Brooklyn, NY.

The panel will be moderated by Darien author and professor Sharbari Zohra Ahmed. All are welcome to this free community event.
