If you are interested in the LWV-Darien, become a member and join us! Simply click on our Membership Form and download and mail a membership form to us.

Keep in mind we invite participation in our Darien league at any and all levels of participation. You can simply be a member and enjoy the programs, or you can get more involved in areas that are of particular interest to you. However, it is the membership dues and contributions that support our efforts to produce programs and pamphlets, to bring speakers and educational forums to our community and to update and maintain our website. What LWV-Darien Does for the Community

At election time we prepare a nonpartisan Voters Guide, including all local and state candidates, that is printed in the town newspapers and will be placed on our website. The Voters Guide is a compilation of questions and corresponding answers asked of each candidate.

We conduct an annual Candidates’ Night. This is a debate held approximately two weeks before Election Day in Darien’s town-hall auditorium. The debate is typically covered by local press and televised in its entirety on Ch. 79, our local government cable access channel.

We produce, distribute and post on our website a Government Guide to Darien. The guide informs residents about who represents them at all levels of government.

We produce a Guide to the RTM (Representative Town Meeting) to encourage citizen participation and knowledge in community government.

We print Know Your Town, which is a reference guide to town government, town services, and community and civic organizations.

We provide these Darien LWV publications at the Library and Town Hall along with LWVCT publications on state government and issues.

We maintain a website (lwv.darien.org) for information on current events, issues, schedules and more.
